When is a counter-report needed
When the opposing party presents an expert report that does not reflect the technical reality. The counter-report analyses the methodology, data and conclusions of the original report and identifies its shortcomings or errors.
Analysis methodology
Systematic review of the original report: verification of input data, adequacy of methodology, coherence of conclusions and regulatory compliance. Each discrepancy is documented with independent technical evidence.

01 Does a counter-report carry the same weight as the original?
Yes. The judge evaluates all reports according to sound judgment (LEC art. 348). A rigorous counter-report can overturn the evidence.
02 Can it be done without visiting the property?
It depends on the case. Often an independent site visit is necessary to verify the original report's data.
